Co-founder & Executive Director
Daniel grew up in Presque Isle, Maine and currently lives in Norway, Maine. He graduated from the University of Maine Business School in 2014 with a Degree in Marketing, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship. Daniel has always been interested in viewing art and hearing people's stories, but fell in love with the art world after traveling and selling art with the Hidden Ladder Collective. He co-founded Lights Out in 2019, excited to build deeper connections with the Maine arts community. His greatest skills are creative problem solving, relationship building, fundraising, event planning, and promotion.
Co-founder & Creative Director
Karle Woods is a mixed-media artist and graphic designer. Raised in the Western foothills of Maine, and with a degree in Human Ecology from College of the Atlantic (2018), she is passionate about working within small grassroots communities and centers her work in relationship building. She co-founded Lights Out in 2019, passionate about bringing forward the work and voice of artists from all corners of Maine. Karle leads creative direction for Lights Out Gallery and manages branding and design projects through the company, Lights Out Art.
Co-founder & Gallery Director
Born and raised in rural Western Maine, Reed McLean has always been tied to his landscape and its many influences. A cross media artist, he delights in learning new skills and honing his craft. He graduated top of his class from Alfred university, receiving his bachelor of fine art’s degree in 2018. He co-founded Lights Out in 2019, seeking to broaden the vocabulary of Maine art at home and abroad. He is the principal interviewer and editor of weekly artist interviews and brings his passion and attention to detail to every one of his projects.
Graphic Design Intern
Culiandra Nero joined Lights Out as an intern in 2022, seeking to hone her graphic design skills and deepen her understanding of art. She grew up in the Oxford County, Maine, and is now attending Tufts university. Culiandra has always had an interest in the arts, and is passionate about meeting new artists and broadening her horizons. She loves reading, photography, and watching films.
